“Golden Arches” By One True Pairing

Tom Fleming aka One True Pairing is pleased to share a new single, “Golden Arches”, with B-side, a cover of Beverly Glenn-Copeland’s “Ever New”. Building on his Zero Vulnerability EP from last year, which stripped back songs from his 2019 self-titled debut, the new tracks showcase a more gentle and hopeful side to Fleming’s music under his One True Pairing guise. One True Pairing has also unveiled live videos of the new songs, performed at London’s Snap Studios with his live cohort Josh Taylor-Moon, and directed by Glynn Bolter and Björn Bjornsson.

Originally released last summer as an Amazon Original, this is the first time “Golden Arches” has been available widely. Recorded at the legendary Metropolis Studios in London, the song develops from twinkling synths up to a soaring, heartfelt crescendo: “You are my inspiration.”

Fleming says of the track: “‘Golden Arches’ is a song of escape and a song of possibility. Built from a load of software loops during hot days spent inside, dreaming of the drizzling open road, it went from bedroom to studio alarmingly quickly. I make no apologies for it being hugely romantic and escapist, I’m always grubbing down in the dirt, trying to make the flowers grow.”

“Ever New” is a stunning and tender rework of Beverly Glenn-Copeland’s dazzling original. Fleming explains, “‘Ever New’ is a song I love deeply by Beverly Glenn-Copeland, which coincidentally got a rerelease between myself tracking this and releasing it. It is a record that’s given me great solace and sounded a note of hope with me, and I hope I have done it some justice – the beauty and simplicity of the original reduced me to rubble.”
