Glass Towers have premiered a video for the single,”Griffin”, off their debut album Halcyon Days, due out June 17 in North America on Hub/Dine Alone Records. It has been a killer year for Antipodean music, from Tame Impala to Flume, there is clearly something in the water down-under. Now you can add Glass Towers to your list of Aussie musical mates.

Formed while still in high school, the songwriting on Halcyon Days deals with the universal struggles faced in the transition from youth to young adult-hood – most written by lead singer Ben Hannam when he was still in his teens. For a band who only recently arrived into their 20s, Glass Towers have already already toured relentlessly over the past few years supporting acts such as Metric, Maximo Park, The Kooks.

Glass Towers list of influences goes some way to explaining the album’s diversity. At once contemporary and buzzy, yet instantly familiar. From the literary genius of Jack Kerouac to the madcap mind of Syd Barrett and effortless cool of Lou Reed, from a childhood raised on a somewhat oddball mixture of Neil Diamond, Roxy Music and Simon & Garfunkel, to the paintings of J.M.W Turner and photographs of Robert Doisneau.
