Miso Extra has shared new single, “Ghostly,” the track is lifted from her forthcoming debut album, Earcandy. Co-written with A. K. Paul (Jai Paul, Jessie Ware, Nao). Written and recorded in summer 2024 with engineer Ricky Damian (Ezra Collective, Jorja Smith, Sampha) at Damon Albarn’s Studio 13, Earcandy drops on May 16 via Transgressive. Speaking about “Ghostly”, Miso shares “Ghostly is about returning to your senses and regaining agency. The mood of the song came about when A. K. Paul and I were chatting about our shared love for Janet Jackson and Solange.” Listen now and watch an animated visualizer, directed by Taku Mikami and edited by Shea McChrystal.

“Ghostly” follows the release of the synth-house-inspired pop track “Certified” and “Good Kisses” featuring Metronomy, which saw Joseph Mount declare Miso Extra “the future.” Last year, she also “Slow Down”, co-written and produced with DJ Boring. Her forthcoming debut album, Earcandy, co-produced by Miso herself with further contributions from MICHELLE, and Tyson. Adding to the album’s creative vision, Miso worked closely with Chinese Indonesian filmmaker and photographer Claryn Chong to craft its visual identity.
