One day after her Revolt Live takeover, Gavin Turek is offering us a new video for her “Don’t Fight It” single which was released via IHC 1NFINITY. Turek’s “Frontline”/”Don’t Fight It” single clocks in as the third release through the young label and follows singles from Pictureplane and Chela. Label boss and video director Franki Chan explains, “this is also the third video in the IHC 1NFINITY series (beginning with Chela and Pictureplane). All of our videos are connected and live in the same world, so while we need to continue some aspects, we also need to make sure we put a spotlight on who the artist is. Pictureplane’s video for “Hyper Real” was dark and horrific. We knew Gavin’s video needed to be light and fun, but we needed to connect them. So we pick up a few months after “Hyper Real” with Alex (the female lead) from that one joining Gavin on a camping trip.” A throwback to teen movies like Foxes, Dazed and Confused, and Wet Hot American Summer, the video for “Frontline” plays out like a short film. Make sure to watch it via the link above.
2015 has been a busy year for Gavin. April marks the release of her first single “Frontline,” a dance heavy homage to Donna Summer, via iheartcomix’s new label 1INFINITY. Late summer, she will release an EP of sexy electronic tunes with longtime collaborator TOKiMONSTA. Other collaborations rolling out this year include singles with Viceroy, Goldroom, Miami Horror, Gigamesh, and LCAW.
