Ganser debut new single “Futuretripping”

Chicago post-punk band Ganser have released new single, the track is off their LP Animal Hospital, Now available via Felte. The album, produced by Angus Andrew of Liars, saw Ganser stretching the confines of their sound into new territory. The band, composed of Alicia Gaines and Brian Cundiff, remained steadfastly committed to propulsive patterns; building endless rhythm beneath feet moving in time on a dance floor, or a sidewalk masquerading as one, and the release was a new critical peak for the band. Ganser recently announced a run of dates supporting Bikini Kill, which will begin on September 13th. Ahead of the tour the band are sharing a new single, their first since the release of their 2025 LP, a track called “Futuretripping” that arrives with a video directed by Gaines.
Gaines says of the track:
Ahead of going on the road with Bikini Kill, I was interested in the concept of cheating time, where one could go for just a little more of it. After coming back from Europe earlier this year, we found our personal senses of time were distorted as we were dropped back into life in Chicago, mixing the mundane with the fantastical. Reaching into tomorrow for a little more of today became an inside joke, now ‘Futuretripping.’
Brian Cundiff adds:
Everybody’s waiting for the sign to change. People tend to wait around to be fed what they should react to these days, what to do, and I suppose there’s a bit of that restlessness in the music and lyrics as well. It’s an agitation that it’s not tomorrow while also wanting more time today, right now.
