Multidisciplinary artist Gaika unveils a new single titled “Piñata” co-produced by close collaborator Kidä from his highly anticipated forthcoming second album, Drift out on September 8th via Big Dada Recordings.

“Piñata” offers a new insight into how broad in sound the new project is with its traditional North-African influences and snake charming melodies. It’s a freeing track to lose yourself and move your body to with its spiritual qualities, and when paired with Gaika’s auto-tuned vocals, a psychedelic yet futuristic soundscape unfolds. A very live, enchanting energy is present on “Piñata” with its dizzying concoction of guitars, organs, brass and heavy percussion producing a hypnotizing and liberating song about letting go of obligations and things that are bad for you.

“Piñata” follows on from the electrifying “LADY” ft. bbymutha where Gaika also enlisted Kidä (Yves Tumor) on production with additional contributions from Azekel (Gorillaz) and Max Winter on the feverish affair that was shortly accompanied by a music video by Jade Ang Jackman that sees Gaika on the search for his ideal accomplice.

On the new album Drift the artist invites listeners on a high-speed journey where love, pain, brutality and beauty collide to produce a vivid and provocative cinematic masterpiece. The sonic universe of Drift is the most stylistically accurate representation of GAIKA’s personal tastes to date, stitching musical influences past and present to land on a gritty, distorted sound pulsating with an unwavering, formidable energy
