Fontaines D.C. have released their new collaboration with ROSALÍA, “Where Is Gone?,” the track is off the band’s forthcoming album Dopamine Chamber, the James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Black Country, New Road) produced LP drops on October 16th via XL Recordings.

“Where Is Gone?” is the first artist collaboration on a Fontaines D.C. album. It’s also a song of particular significance to the band’s Carlos O’Connell, who has recently been reconnecting with his own Spanish heritage. “I’ve been a fan of ROSALÍA since her debut album, which was absolutely beautiful,” he says. “What really excited me was how she was keeping a Spanish tradition of music alive, which in a spiritual way felt akin to what we’ve tried to do with Irish music. For someone with roots in both countries, it’s been beautiful to see. She’s an artist who’s blown me away at every stage since.”

Dopamine Chamber was made with James Ford between London, the English countryside and Palermo, where Grian Chatten recorded vocals in a makeshift booth built from mattresses and cushions. “There’s a poignant sense of us being on the brink of some other kind of form of humanity, or non-humanity,” says Chatten. For their fifth album, Fontaines D.C. have built the chamber. What happens to the listener inside it will be the experiment.
