Fancy Gap is comprised of the songwriting/production partnership of Charles Crossingham and Stuart McLamb (The Love Language). Today shared their new single “Home Again,” which features guest vocals from Futurebirds’ Daniel Womack. The inspired in part by Thomas Wolfe’s iconic North Carolina novel You Can’t Go Home Again, the song also includes guest spots from Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters, The Wallflowers) on Hammond B3 organ and Robert Sledge (Ben Folds Five) on bass. “Home Again” follows previous singles “Gold Coast” and “Starlite Motel” and their 2024 self-titled debut album. Fancy Gap will play next later this week, heading out for three shows with Lua Flora.

“The song is about realizing the place that shaped you doesn’t exist the same way anymore, and coming to terms with that. While the lyrics reflect loss and change, the music keeps driving forward the way cities do. The video leans into moments of joy around our hometown, Raleigh, North Carolina, acknowledging that love and complexity can exist at the same time explains McLamb of “Home Again” and it’s video.

“We wanted the verses to feel like they’re chasing something, with the chorus hitting quick and clean. It’s rooted in traditional folk songwriting, but played with the energy of a band that doesn’t want to slow down.” “Daniel brought a cracked, beautiful edge to the verses,” adds Crossingham. “His singing style really embodies the South it’s raw, soulful, and full of character. This one means a lot to us.”
