Evian Christ, has returned with the new single, “Ultra.” The track is now available via Warp Records, and is his official debut for the label. “Ultra” is the first new music from the UK artist in over 6 years. The track is described as an epic and expansive track that straddles the line between brooding, sentimental ambient and gaudy, trance-inspired maximalism. Originally crafted for Evian’s over-the-top live show and featuring vocal contributions from boy soprano Daniel Blaze (son of renowned opera singer Robin Blaze), the song is a triumphant return of one of electronic music’s most enigmatic producers.
Evian Christ, born Joshua Leary, has eschewed traditional release cycles of his own music to this point, focusing instead on projects like his massively influential, international Trance Party events, his gallery exhibitions with renowned designer and longtime collaborator David Rudnick, or his high-level production work for notables such as Travis Scott, Kanye West, and Danny Brown. A singular figure in the electronic music scene, Evian has worked in a vast and seemingly endless array of mediums since he burst onto the scene in 2012, and with “Ultra,” Evian Christ reminds us of what was so fascinating about him in the first place.
