SOAK, AKA: Bridie Monds-Watson has announced North Ameican shows in early 2019 where she will showcase new songs with a full band. The singer/songwriter starts her run of North Amrican dates, at NYC’s Mercury Lounge on January 30th, and play shows at Philadelphia’s Boot & Saddle (2/1) and Washington DC’s Songbyrd (2/2), before wrapping up on the west coast at Los Angeles’ Moroccan Lounge on February 5th.
Monds-Watson began her musical journey as SOAK at age 14 when she first wrote breakout track “Sea Creatures.” Taking her time to develop her craft and complete school, SOAK signed to Rough Trade Records at 18, which released her acclaimed debut album, Before We Forgot How To Dream, in 2015. One of the Mercury Prize’s youngest-ever nominees.
SOAK is ready to introduce her new album, beginning with the breathtaking “Everybody Loves You.” The album is a journey through Bridie’s own emotional and psychological soundscape; an intense collection of musical thoughts and feelings, which mark her move from hometown Derry, Ireland to Manchester, UK, and her journey from loss of identity to self-acceptance to become the young woman she is now.
