Vancouver artist ekkstacy has shared a new video for “i want to be by your side” ft. herhexx, “i wanna be by your side” hangs heavy like a dreary, overcast day. Kept afloat by rolling percussion and a soft guitar riff, ekkstacy and herhexx gloomily mull over failures and life’s cruelties. They sing the title phrase as if it drains their energy, forgoing vocal flourishes and style for a dreary but believable earnestness.

Set on a chilly afternoon in an impersonal city, the video brings their gloom to life. Both artists slump and ruminate over their fears against flashy yet cold environments.
