Drag Talk today have announced their debut album Drink The Ocean, due out October 30th via MNRK Heavy. The arrives alongside the release of the Los Angeles band’s lead single “Pony Up.” The single marks the band’s first release since their 2024 EP Rosy Crown.

Drink The Ocean finds the band melding 90s indie rock, shoegaze, and Britpop, solidifying their brand of hook-forward dream-pop. “God exists and is as cruel, loving, insecure, and indifferent as you or I,” the band says of the track. Rooted in heady, shimmering shoegaze evoking Swervedriver, The Verve, and Jesus and Mary Chain, the album also flirts with dream pop, psych, and classic rock. Its defining trait is mating all this to the single-minded cadence and mischievous vaudevillian instincts of Taylor, an inimitable force-of-nature fusion of David Berman and Elliot Smith.
