Dinner Party, which includes Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington and friends, announces the release of their highly anticipated studio album Enigmatic Society out on April 14, 2023. The album features the vocal stylings of contemporary artists including Tank, Arin Ray, Ant Clemons, and resident Dinner Party guest Phoelix.

Enigmatic Society is a follow-up to Dinner Party’s 2020 self-titled debut album, and the content of the music pays tribute to the duality of both beauty and adversity in Black America celebrating Black joy, life, art, and culture. Dinner Party is a family affair, as the cover art for Enigmatic Society and the debut album were designed by Washington’s sister, artist Amani Washington.

Ahead of the album’s release, Dinner Party drops a new single today “For Granted (feat. Arin Ray)” ahead of their album release. The track combines slinky saxophone, melodic piano and Ray’s, neo-soul vocals while the foundation of the song incorporates elements of nature with a water sample looped throughout.

The group’s previously released self-titled EP Dinner Party featured Cordae, Herbie Hancock, Buddy, Bilal, Tank and the Bangas, Punch, Rapsody, Reuben Vincent, Malaya, Alex Isley, and Phoelix. With each release, they reach to inspire and give back to their community with an expression of joy, fun, and laughter without ego – good friends coming together and all bringing different ingredients to the table.

Producer/pianist Robert Glasper, who has been a major force in music for decades most recently winning a Grammy for Best R&B Album at last month’s awards show, as well as film, including his Grammy win for the soundtrack to Miles Ahead and an Emmy for his contribution to “Letter To The Free” from Ava Duvernay’s documentary 13th. Kamasi Washington is a Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer whose three bodies of work to date are among the most acclaimed of the past decade. In 2020, Washington scored Becoming—Netflix’s film profiling First Lady Michelle Obama—and was nominated for Grammy and Emmy awards for his contributions.
