Darkstar Remixes Arnalds and Frahm

Darkstar Remixes track from Ólafur Arnalds & Nils Frahm. Darkstar's latest release 'Foam Island' is now out on Warp Records

James from Darkstar says of the remix “We were sent a link earlier in the year to the Nils and Ólafur project and ended up sampling the chromatic percussion and building a remix of sorts around that. The original track is a great piece and our interpretation is something that evolves and mutates around a guitar riff Aiden started playing while we played through the original.”

The duo are also taking part in the Barbican’s Panic!: What Happened to Social Mobility in the Arts?’ series which included a talk with talk with Stuart Maconie (6Music DJ), Jude Rogers (Guardian and music critic) and various others on Pop Culture & Privilege last week.

Darkstar’s Foam Island was released this fall and includes themes explored in the Panic! series. The album is interlaced with the commentary of Huddersfield, UK residents speaking about their society. Darkstar have become a tour de force on the electronic music scene and their most recent record features their signature sounds; hard digital rhythms, live percussion and colorful synths.
