Danish duo Cancer release a live video
Nikolaj Manuel Vonsild is known for his soulful vocals in When Saints Go Machine’s electronic music. Kristian Finne Kristensen is known for his warm and ever-present vocals and the analogue sound from guitars, bass and drums in Chorus Grant.
The mini-abum Ragazzi will be released on September 29, 2014 by us, Copenhagen based label Tambourhinoceros (Chorus Grant, CTM, Treefight For Sunlight, The New Spring & more). Ragazzi consists of 6 songs lasting well over 30 minutes. Nis Bysted, who’ve also worked with Iceage, Choir of Young Believers & his own band Thulebasen, has produced the record alongside Nikolaj & Kristian. Ragazzi’s expression stretches from the energy and subtle ferocity created by recording the instruments together, live, to a great wealth of details in the subdued pompousness and the poetic meticulousness of the songs.
The songs on Ragazzi are both radical and ballads oozing of presence, a restless calm, an out-of-this-world melodiousness cutting through the gamut of emotions with its deeply melancholic undercurrent. Cancer also expresses their love for improvisation and experimental music, but the lyrics always remain the most important focus leading the way through the personal and intriguing songs.
