Crosss Signs to Joyful Noise

Crosss Signs to Joyful Noise and reissues of 'Lo' and 'Obsidian Spectre'.

Crosss has signed with Joyful Noise Recordings and will be releasing a brand new LP later this year. In the meantime, the label has reissued the band’s first two
LPs — 2013’s Obsidian Spectre and 2015’s LO — and both are available now digitally and on limited edition vinyl (pressed on clear w/ white splatter and clear w/ black splatter vinyl, limited to 500 hand-numbered copies and packaged in a gatefold jacket.)

Drawing from a mix of proto-metal, psychedelia, and doom, Crosss’ music straddles the heady and the heavy. Having been compared to acts as disparate as Syd Barrett and Black Sabbath, their blend of dark and sludgy psych-rock features murky, droning soundscapes, frequent rhythmic shifts, and plenty of occultism. Both LO and Obsidian Spectre also feature a similar format, showcasing 7-8 short songs on Side A and a massive, sprawling, occasionally evil instrumental piece taking up the entirety of Side B.

Crosss has toured with Built to Spill, METZ, and Viet Cong and shared stages with acts like Grimes, Fuzz, and Moon Duo, and they’ll be heading out on a US tour this spring — see below for initial dates, with more TBA.
