“Cool Kids Radio” Autogramm

Autogramm is a synth-driven, power-pop trio, who draw influences from the likes of The Cars, The Go Go’s, Gary Numan, 20/20 and Devo. The band members are Jiffy Marx of Brooklyn’s Hard Drugs and Vancouver’s Blood Meridian, CC Voltage of Berlin’s Dysnea Boys, London’s Loyalties, Black Halos, and The Silo of Vancouver’s Black Mountain, Lightning Dust and Destroyer.

Today, Autogramm have released “Cool Kids Radio” the Justin Gradin Directed video, by based on a story/concept “Unknown Caller” by Jeffry Lee, with Cinematography by Peter Haggle and blood and makeup by Isabelle Fallu. their campsite-horror-flick-inspired video, just ahead of their European LP release and tour.

“Cool Kids Radio” was originally written by C.C. in Berlin with Rich Jones (Michael Monroe, Loyalties, YoYo’s, Ginger Wildheart etc.). He says “It’s kind of tongue in cheek, being well aware that we are neither kids nor cool. We took the song and changed it to sound more 80’s and part of the Autogramm sound, adding keys and harmonies. The video is about a secret murderer loose in the forest around a camp site. It’s supposed to be a throwback to those cheesy 80’s campsite horror movies.”

The video was inspired loosely by 1974 Canadian psychological slasher film “Black Christmas”. Shot on location at Lakeside Motel and Campground on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast. Marx says of the video,“I’ve always wanted to shoot a movie at Lakeside. It’s rustic simplicity seems frozen in time making it the perfect setting for a classic summer camp goofball comedy meets cabin in the woods slasher flick.”
