Computerwife is back to announce her new album Born From A Wish, will be released on November 6th on Danger Collective. Along with the announcement the artist is sharing a new single called “Foreverrr.” This year, Computerwife emerged from a period of hibernation to go on tour with Feeble Little Horse, and just ahed of those dates she shared her first single since her 2023 album, a track called “Nobody.”

Warncke on “Foreverrr:”

I wrote this after reflecting on being back in my home city during the lockdowns. Atlanta looks totally different from where I live now and it was shocking to go back to. Once I adjusted I had a sense of closure, like I could fully appreciate living there as an adult for the first time. It’s about laying in the grass and reading poetry with my childhood friends during that summer, and walking through the forested streets at night going to the bars. It’s the same simple moments of peace I appreciate the most anywhere, just in this specific setting of where I grew up. This song is in respect for how it felt to live there.

Computerwife, the project of Addie Warncke started making music as a teenager after hearing Grimes break down the making of “Kill v. Maim” on Song Exploder and downloading a free trial of Ableton to follow her process. In 2018, she moved to New York to study at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, uploading her first songs as Computerwife to SoundCloud during her freshman year and later gathering five favourites for the Computerwife EP at the start of COVID lockdowns.

Over the next few years, Warncke continued writing and recording, though she deleted her entire stock of demos in a moment of personal crisis. When she signed with Los Angeles independent label Danger Collective, she had to dig through emails, folders, and digital files to see what could be recovered. A Google Drive of songs she had sent to an ex-boyfriend became Computerwife, released in 2023, an album of fuzzy shoegaze, slacker rock, late-’90s haze, all played into a little microphone.
