Coeur de pirate will release her new album, Roses on August 28th via Dare to Care Records. Partnering with three brilliant different; Bjorn Yttling, [Franz Ferdinand, The Hives, Peter Bjorn and John], and Rob Ellis [PJ Harvey, Anna Calvi] and Ash Workman [Metronomy], the album was recorded in Sweden, Portishead’s studios in Bristol, and in London’s iconic Church Studios where Adele’s Skyfall fame took its roots.

Most of Roses’s songs are in English, the universal language of pop. The singer from Quebec explores coming-of-age themes that are at times painful. The lyrics are the reflection of a young woman bravely facing her fears and insecurities, confronting her heartbreaks and epiphanies, and opening up on the other side of celebrity, on motherhood, which deeply changed her life, and on the doubts it cast in her.
