Coeur de Pirate Releases New Single and Video

Coeur de Pirate Releases New Single and Video for "Carry On" from her forthcoming album

Today, singer/songwriter Cœur de pirate has shared the lead single “Carry On,” from her third album. “Carry On” signals the end of an era and ushers in another, where Béatrice Martin reflects more deeply on her life up to that point.

Written and composed by Béatrice Martin, the single was recorded in Stockholm with producer Bjorn Yttling (Peter Bjorn and John, Robyn, Lykke Li).

The beloved piano is now cradled within a swirling ensemble of synthesizers and carefully crafted string arrangements, with layers of dynamic drum sounds and samples powerfully propelling the song forward. Where Blonde was inspired by 60’s yéyé, Francoise Hardy and Brigitte Bardot, that new title finds Martin boldly expanding her sound and modernizing her approach.

The first video, directed by Kevin Calero, features choreography by Nico Archambault and Wynn Holmes. With a radiant grace, Cœur de pirate twirls through the flames, supported by her partner’s Sam Colbey (Grands Ballets Canadiens) ardor.
