Chrome Sparks AKA: Malvin has collaborated with Reo Cragun (previously collaborated with Flume on hit ‘Friends’) for a new 4-track EP Void. The duo joined forces during a writing trip for Jeremy in LA during 2019, where they met via mutual friends and instantly hit it off, laying the foundations for the EP in just one productive session, including the start of new single “Blood”, out today.
“Reo is an enigma to me. He has so many layers. The first day we met, on my first writing trip to los angeles, we planted the seeds of two songs, one of which became ‘Blood’. I was in awe of his ability to instantaneously spin both blissful and heartbreaking moments from his life into verses and hooks. A few chords were all he needed”
“When I returned from the trip, inspired by a new collaboration and dimension to the music on which I had been working, I fiddled with parts and added instruments until everything finally felt like it shouldn’t be fiddled with any longer. Three songs later, “Void” was conceived”.
Chrome Sparks has performed with Tycho, Bonobo, TOkiMONSTA, Porter Robinson, Cyril Hahn and more, plus recently appeared at the annual Chanel Dinner Party at Cannes Film Festival 2021. Previously he’s also worked with Whethan, Petit Biscuit, Dirty Projectors, Bryson Tiller, Machinedrum and Laurel.
