Caution was formed in 2019 by songwriters Cash Langdon and Nora Button. The duo has collaborated almost exclusively sending tracks back and forth, as Langdon lives in Alabama and Button in Minnesota. Their first self-release “What You Sell” and follow up EP and 2022’s debut LP Arcola, were both released by Born Yesterday Records. Caution blends genres between indie pop, shoegaze, grunge, with a bit of country in the mix. Today, they have shared single “To Decide” for Hardly Art’s 15th Anniversary Singles Series.

Cash and Nora of Caution offer this, “The initial demo of “To Decide” was created January 1st of 2022. The cold darkness of Minneapolis winter had pervaded my mood. The lyrics confront an inability to experience meaning and connection as well as a wavering between fear and acceptance of ephemerality. “

2022 marks 15 years of Hardly Art and 15 years of sharing music they love. From The Duchess and the Duke to Hunx and His Punx to Protomartyr to La Luz to My Idea, we’ve been lucky to be the label home for some of our favorite artists from the past 15 years. In the spirit of continuing the legacy, we’re unbelievably stoked to launch Hardly Art 15. Over the course of the year we’ll share 15 new singles from 15 of our favorite artists that we think should be your favorite artists too.
