Matt Hitt (Drowners) has released a new music video for “Carried Away,” a song from his recent EP You’ll Be Lucky. The EP was released via Killphonic Records and was produced by Timothy Lanham of The Vaccines. Hitt has also announced a new show at Brooklyn, NY’s Baby’s All Right on December 8th.

“We filmed the video in Topanga with the vague idea that flying a kite would somehow relate to getting carried away,” Hitt explains of the video. “Unfortunately, as you can see, there wasn’t much wind that day…”

You’ll Be Lucky takes its title from a phrase Hitt’s father used to say—meaning “well, I doubt that’ll happen.” The songs wrestle with that sentiment, balancing cynicism with a flicker of hope. “They’re either in belief of or rejection of that feeling,” Hitt says. “Melancholic but hopeful, I suppose.”

After fronting the indie outfit Drowners—who released two LPs via Frenchkiss Records and toured with Foals, Cage The Elephant, and Arctic Monkeys—and more recently serving as touring guitarist for The Vaccines.
