Nico Muños, AKA: Boy Pablo, has dropped “Be Mine.” just after his Latin American tour and included percussion recorded in Chile. It’s his unique take on a (not so) machismo cumbia love song laced with an easy-going dub rhythm guitar. The video was shot after Boy Pablo’s set at Primavera Sound in Barcelona.

“I’ve been obsessed with cumbia music for a while now so it became natural for me to try writing something inspired by it,” says Nico of the track. “It was one of those songs I didn’t expect to write, it just appeared. It’s basically a cheeky way to approach a love interest that you know has a slight interest in you. I feel like it’s a very Latino romantic thing to do.”

The track is thw follows Boy Pablo’s surprise cover of The Human League’s “Don’t You Want Me” featuring Sobs vocalist Celine Autumn, aka Cayenne as well as “La Novela,” Boy Pablo’s collaborative single with Cuco. The five-minute ascending ballad has Boy Pablo and Cuco harmonizing and swapping verses while soft 60s-inspired keys, guitars, and drums float below their vocals.
