Boxed In release new video for “Jist”

Boxed in has released a new video, for his latest single "Jist," the single comes off Boxed In's forthcoming release 'Melt'

After a couple of days at Glastonbury, Boxed In has shared their video for current single “Jist,” the first to be taken from their forthcoming release and sophomore album Melt, out on September 23rd via Nettwerk Records.

“Jist” marks the return of Boxed In, the project of Oli Bayston –singer, songwriter, producer and frontman. Produced by Dan Carey and Oli himself, “Jist” is a cut of electronic pop, which keeps one foot firmly in Oli’s background – intricate piano lines, taut rhythms – but also digs deeper into the dance music influences tightly compacted within Boxed In.

The accompanying video has been directed by Wayne McCauslin and is a trippy kaleidoscopic tribute, which perfectly compliments the track. Wayne says, “The music video for ‘Jist’ came about initially when incorporating Oli’s liking for surrealist artists that we both admire. I drew a lot of inspiration from the likes of F.Bacon, Escher and Hitchcock whilst trying to keep things funky. Oli’s composition offered me a lot of visual ground for adding elements and glitches here and there, so the creative process felt very natural and it was fun to play with.“

Of the video, Oli says, “Wayne has done an incredible job with the video. He’s managed to adopt my lyrical themes of paranoia and claustrophobia and actually make them fun! Quite an achievement. He’s also created a world I’d love to visit some time.”
