Blood Orange Performs This Saturday 'Celebrating 15 Years of Okayplayer' at Central Park SummerStage in New York with Moses Sumney and Sean Nicholas Savage

Okayplayer and the Okayplayer network kicked off 15th anniversary celebrations late last year and most recently held five specially-curated free shows in New York City in conjunction with Central Park SummerStage. Blood Orange, Moses Sumney and Sean Nicholas Savage will perform this Saturday, August 16 at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park as part of the final show in the “Celebrating 15 Years of Okayplayer” series.

“Celebrating 15 Years of Okayplayer” showcases talent from each site’s particular arena and has taken place at the mainSummerStage location at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. The full series line-up included:

August 16 – Okayplayer Presents: Blood Orange, Moses Sumney, Sean Nicholas Savage

Okayplayer kicked off its 15th anniversary year with the annual Holiday Jam. The party, which is presented in the form of a jam session, featured The Roots collaborating with Sufjan Stevens, Raekwon, Big Daddy Kane, Valerie June and more. In January, Okayplayer partnered with sister site Okayafrica and Knitting Factory Entertainment to premiere Finding Fela – a documentary that follows the cast of FELA! as they embark upon a journey to take the production “back home” to Lagos – at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. In March, Okayplayer presented a four-day series of South By Southwest concerts and parties in partnership with their sister sites. On May 31, Okayplayer served as the official media partner for the annual Roots Picnic at Philadelphia’s Festival Pier, where it brought its collaborative spirit to the festival, featuring headliners The Roots and Snoop Dogg, Janelle Monaé, and many more, to celebrate the site’s year.
