“Bittersweet” by Matilda Mann

UK artist Matilda Mann has released new single “Bittersweet.” “This was a song written totally from my subconscious. I didn’t realise who or what it was about until I was performing it months later on tour. I used to be really close with someone in my teenage years and we had to go through a lot of challenges and emotions together. Being a teenager is already confusing and everything feels like a whirlwind and heightened.
So when they moved away when I was 18, we lost touch and we didn’t get to grow together into the people we are today. I used to hold onto the past a lot and through rose tinted glasses I saw it as an easier time. Whereas I think I’m now finally experiencing peace and am able to look back and realise maybe it wasn’t as perfect as I remembered. Therefore I don’t think I can ever have that person back in my life, as they just remind me of a period of my life I don’t really care to reminisce/ revisit anymore. So it’s bitter that we don’t know each other the way we did, but sweet that we’re both a lot happier now – we can just hold each other as memories from now on.”
The new single follows Matilda’s previous release “Inventing,” She has played shows with Laufey and Wallows.
