“Basketholder” by The Britanys

“Basketholder” is the new home-made music video by The Britanys. The single came out earlier this summer, and was produced by Gordon Raphael.

The Britanys are comprised of Lucas Long, Steele Kratt, Jake Williams & Lucas Carpenter. Since releasing their first tape A Night With The Britanys with Lolipop Records, in the Fall of 2015, they’ve played with the likes of Hinds, Public Access TV, Shamir, and Yak.

This summer, The Britanys released two singles produced by Gordon Raphael (The Strokes, Regina Spektor), “Basketholder” and “Get My.”

The band and Raphael were introduced by chance via email through Artistas Sean Unidos journalist Nicholas Ellis that relayed Gordon was a fan of The Britanys. “We thought he [Ellis] was fucking with us at first, when he gave us Gordon’s email. However, we figured we’d give it a try and he ended up responding, saying that he would be interested in working with us. It was one of those childhood dreams come true moments” says guitarist and singer Lucas Long. The band sent Gordon the individual tracks pre-recorded in their home studio in Brooklyn, and were happily surprised with the resulting mix.

The Britanys are currently in the studio with producer Jonathan Schenke (Parquet Courts, The Drums) to record a new EP due in 2017. They will be opening for Ted Leo at Brooklyn Night Bazarr on September 24th.
