Basilica Sound Scape reveals Initial Lineup

For the fourth straight year, Basilica Hudson’s Founders and Creative Directors Melissa Auf der Maur and Tony Stone are working in collaboration with Brandon Stosuy from Pitchfork and Brian DeRan of Leg Up Management to program Basilica Sound Scape, a carefully curated two-day event that’s been called “the anti-festival” by various publications for offering of a thoughtful mix of music, visual art, and literature.

Basilica Sound Scape 2015, is taking place this September 11, 12 and 13, again at Basilica Hudson, a reclaimed 1880’s factory on the Hudson waterfront with a limited capacity.

Basilica Sound Scape 2015 presents, among other things, a number of the UK’s leading experimental electronic musicians, including Blanck Mass, the project of Fuck Buttons member Benjamin John Power, outsider house producer/Damon Albarn associate ACTRESS, and Haxan Cloak, aka Bobby Krlic, the Tri Angle record producer who collaborated with Björk on her most recent album. Also performing is the Seattle-based artist, Perfume Genius and the Los Angeles noise-rock band (and Max Payne sound trackers/NIN tourmates) HEALTH. They’ll be joined by Michigan noise legends Wolf Eyes, Calgary post-punks Viet Cong, Norwegian singer and composer Jenny Hval, Chicagoan Haley Fohr’s experimental folk project Circuit Des Yeux, Weyes Blood (the psychedelic folk project of Natalie Mering), and traditional indian tabla and sitar musicians Gourisankar and Indrijat Banajeer. Additionally, the weekend will include visual arts, performance art, readings, farm to table food and more. These details will be announced shortly.

Basilica Hudson is a newly incorporated and rapidly growing nonprofit multidisciplinary arts center in Hudson, NY, supporting the creation, production and presentation of arts, culture and sustainable community.
