Arts & Crafts share details of X

As part of ongoing 10th anniversary celebrations, Arts & Crafts is preparing to release X – an entirely new collection of original collaborative recordings by artist pairings from the label roster.

The album’s 10 tracks include new compositions as well as fresh, unexpected interpretations from a list of artists that includes Broken Social Scene, Feist, Timber Timbre, Chilly Gonzales, Stars, Dan Mangan and many more.

X is available Tuesday, May 28 in LP, CD and digital formats.

X is the latest in AC10 – Arts & Crafts’ ongoing series of 10th anniversary celebration initiatives – that includes:

Field Trip Music & Arts Festival
On Saturday, June 8 Broken Social Scene will make a one-night-only return from hiatus, joined by label mate Feist as well as a host of other A&C artists for a one-day celebration of music and culture at Fort York & Garrison Common. Tickets for Field Trip are on sale now at FieldTripLife.com.

A&C x Norman Wong
A special photography exhibit by Toronto-based fashion and celebrity photographer Norman Wong. A longtime friend of Arts & Crafts, Norman has had a unique opportunity to document and work with a range of A&C artists. Norman will be exhibiting an iconic black and white portrait series featuring prominent members of the Arts & Crafts roster, as well as a photographic A&C retrospective. The exhibit opens May 23 and can be found at 1093 Queen Street West Unit 2.

A&C x Jeremy Laing // Fashion Collaborations
Prominent Canadian designer Jeremy Laing will team up with contemporary Canadian visual artists and select musicians from the A&C roster to create a unique series with all proceeds donated to AC10 charity MusiCounts. MusiCounts is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that all Canadian children have access to music education.

A&C x House of Anansi // You Forgot It In People // Short Fiction Contest
Famed Canadian publisher House of Anansi Press partners with A&C to host a short fiction contest inspired by the tracks of Broken Social Scene’s You Forgot It In People.

A&C x Gallery Exhibition x Pop Up
Arts & Crafts will host up a Toronto pop-up shop/gallery exhibition from May 23 through June 15 at 1093 Queen Street West, Unit 2. The location will serve as headquarters for all things AC10 and Field Trip.
