“Arrow” by Lily Seabird

Lily Seabird shares “Arrow,” the artist’s new single is off her recently released LP Trash Mountain, now available via Lame-O Records. On the singles, Seabird shares “This is one of my only love songs. It’s been really fun to play this one in the band and I like how it sounds on the recording, but I also really love to play this song on an acoustic guitar.

The whole concept for this music video was hatched from the brain of my pal Noah Lenker, who also directed and edited it! He called me up and when he first told me the concept I thought that it was awesome but definitely ambitious—I just put my faith in him and the magic of the day and we captured it all in a late February afternoon. The video features some puppets my friend Dre let us borrow. The ‘puppet world’ takes place in my apartment, and the ‘fantasy world’ is just an hour away in Vermont from where I live.”

Since 2023, Seabird’s life has been in perpetual motion, spending nearly half of that time on the road performing her own music and as a touring bassist with Greg Freeman, Lutalo, and Liz Cooper. While she thrives in transit, back home she is anchored by “Trash Mountain,” a pink house surrounded by other artists and creatives situated on a decommissioned landfill site at the back of Burlington’s Old North End. Here, Seabird has found belonging, friendship, and inspiration. It’s a place that hosts artists, puts on shows, and has been passed along in her friend group for the better part of the decade.
