“Angels Over Berlin” Fury

FURY, have released a new video for “Angels Over Berlin.” The track is off the band’s current offering Failed Entertainment, now available via Run For Cover. Fury are currently on the road with Sheer Mag and Ceremony, they play their next show on June 18th in Chicago.

FURY frontman Jeremy Stith on the video:

“Director Mario Escoto filmed it on 16mm Kodak Double X black & white film in Orlando. We talked about people like Agnes Varda, Yasujirō Ozu, Allison Anders, Wim Wenders and Jim Jarmusch along with the 80’s No Wave Cinema movement in NYC. We talked about films like Metropolis and Subway Riders, Border Radio and Night Of The Hunter, as well as music videos like REM’s ‘Man On The Moon’ and all those old Sub Pop Network Program VHS videos. Exploring the ever-familiar and ubiquitous realm of loneliness and self-exploration, Mario came up with a story about a guy on a journey for a trumpet and the eclectic characters he meets on the way, The Angel, The Salesman and The Sleazeball. With the help of cinematographer Nicholas Inman and a brilliant crew, he was able to bring these characters to life.”

Fury’s current release Failed Entertainment was recorded by Colin Knight and their own guitarist Madison Woodward at Paradise Records, in Anaheim, CA. This time, the band sought new surroundings and outside expertise, collaborating with engineer Andrew Oswald at Secret Bathroom Studios, mixing engineer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden) and Parquet Courts’ Andrew Savage. The new batch of songs shows growth in all directions: the slow parts more brooding, the melodies catchier, the lyrics out even further on the limb.
