Alessandro Cortini 'Volume Massimo'

Alessandro Cortini has announced, his new album Volume Massimo – his first for Mute – will be released September 27 on vinyl, CD and digital formats. The lead-single “Amore Amaro,” is now available to stream. Both Alessandro Cortini’s solo work and as a member of Nine Inch Nails combines his fondness for melody with the rigor of experimental practice that strikes a balance between analog composition and cathartic dissonance.

Cortini’s 2017 album, Avanti, was supported by a series of live audio-visual performances structured around an intimate presentation from his family’s private film archive. VOLUME MASSIMO picks up directly from its predecessor – the whisper of their voices slip to the surface on the album’s opener, “Amore Amaro,” rendering an echo of the previous release, a coda detached and adrift.
