AFTER, have dropped new single, “Promise (When You Go),” the group also recently announced an international tour heading across Europe and landing in the US for the Governors Ball on June 6 in New York City. After is working on new music to be released later in 2026. The duo’s track is now available via MOM+POP MUSIC.

The lyrics on “Promise” have an edge to them despite the sweetness of the melodies and production, but the narrator never is bitter for too long – “I hate you / but to touch you now / there’s nothing I wouldn’t do!”

The band describes the song: “Promise (When You Go)” is a sister song to our song “Outbound” (released in August 2025). It started as a piano-driven track à la The Fray and ended up a little closer to an Owl City song, with a little bit of Third Eye Blind thrown in for good measure.”

After is Graham Epstein and Justine Dorsey. They met on Hinge in Los Angeles, CA, and formed After when they realized they’d do better as a band than as a couple. They share a birthday, August 23, 1995, and this is either a coincidence or kismet, depending on which of them you ask. With references ranging from Michelle Branch to Portishead, Fountains of Wayne to Enigma.
