Ed O’Brien is announcing Blue Morpho, his second solo album and first under his own name, out May 22 via his new label Transgressive. He is also releasing the title track.

The album is produced by Paul Epworth (Paul McCartney, Adele). Balancing his workin Radiohead, O’Brien found time to work with engineer Riley MacIntyre. Also helping out were saxophonist and composer Shabaka Hutchings; composer Tõnu Kõrvits, who arranged strings performed by the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra; and sequencing assistance by Flood (U2, PJ Harvey, and Nine Inch Nails); and mixing by Ben Baptie.
