“1000 Miles” By Dave Rowntree

Blur drummer Dave Rowntree has shared a new video for his recent album track, “1000 Miles.” The Blur member’s solo project and his band previewed new material with three UK live shows in late 2022 including a night at London’s Omeara and celebrated the album’s release day in January with a live performance and Q&A in-store at Rough Trade East. The multi-artist returns to his drumming duties with Blur who have reunited for a series of huge live shows this Summer, including two nights at London’s Wembley Stadium. The video was created by the Norfolk based animator/illustrator, Megan Yaxley.

“1000 Miles” is taken from Dave’s recently released solo debut album, Radio Songs, released to widespread critical acclaim last month. The album was produced by Leo Abrahams and arrives some thirty-two years after Blur released their debut album Leisure back in 1991.

Dave said “’1000 Miles’ is my favourite song on the album. It’s a love song to my girlfriend, and talks about how tough it is keeping a relationship alive when you spend so much time away from home.”
