Weaves cover “Help!” by The Beatles

Weaves share their cover of "Help!" by The Beatles

After spending the summer on the road in support of their debut LP (06/17), Weaves are premiering a cover of The Beatles’ “Help!” today as part of the announcement of their fall European tour with their Buzz Records’ label mates Dilly Dally. It’s been a whirlwind 6 months for the band, who have been on the road almost non-stop since their album (out now on Kanine, Buzz Records and Memphis Industries) was first announced in March, touring the US with Sunflower Bean and the UK with Beach Slang, before embarking on a successful European headlining run that included slots at festivals like Latitude, Best Kept Secret and This Is Not A Love Song. The band are currently in the middle of their first North American headline run, but managed to find a moment to record this cover during a brief period of down time in Toronto between tours in July.

“We recorded this when I was feeling a little bit of heartbreak and just stuck in a slump and the song really spoke to me.” says Weaves’ vocalist Jasmyn Burke. “I asked Morgan if he’d be into trying to cover it so we spent a couple hours one day recording it in his little spare room studio. Like most people we love the Beatles, and I felt like those lyrics were living inside of me at the time so I wanted to try and personalize it. It was a really fun experience and, I think an interesting experiment.”

Weaves’ self-titled LP is out now on Kanine in the US, Buzz Records in Canada and Memphis Industries in the rest of the world. It is available for purchase here.
