“The Girls I Know Don’t Think So” Chastity

Chastity has shares a new video off his forthcoming LP Home Made Satan. “The Girls I Know Don’t Think So” visual continues the narrative of the young boy from their previous video, “Sun Poisoning,” as if it were a continuous film. In this scene the video shifts to become more daring and political as the young boy stands in solidarity with a friend fighting for human rights that are under attack. Chastity will be touring with Diiv, starting October 12th in Phoenix.

Frontman Brandon Williams shares about the concept behind the song, “Alexandra Kollontai (on the single cover) was a Marxist revolutionary. She was way ahead of her time. She fought for women’s equality in the workforce, universal maternity care and women’s advancement in education. She won. In 1920, Soviet Russia was the first country in the world to make abortion legal under women’s request. Homosexuality was decriminalized, sex work too. This was 100 years ago, it’s fucked how long it’s taken the rest of the world. Alexandra Kollontai helped to change the lives of millions of people. There may be voices similar to hers out there today. Are we listening?”
