“Scisssssssors” Xiu Xiu

Xiu Xiu have released a new single off their forthcoming release Girl with Basket of Fruit, the LP comes out on February 8th via Polyvinyl Record Co. It was produced by Xiu Xiu’s Angela Seo and Greg Saunier of Deerhoof. Xiu Xiu is Thor Harris, Jordan Geiger, Angela Seo, and Jamie “Butch Jenny” Stewart.

Accompanying the single is the first act of a three part video series, co-directed by the band’s own Angela Seo, to be released surrounding the album. Featuring Xiu Xiu’s Jamie Stewart and Angela Seo as well as Ron Athey, Elliot Reed and others, the themes and references of the series include ritual, mythology, mundane and divergent belief, film, music, and resurrected motifs from preceding Xiu Xiu videos.
