Pond release new video for “The Weather”

Pond releases video for album title-track 'The Weather

POND have unveiled visuals to the title track of their forthcoming album The Weather. Utilizing found footage of excess and the capitalist ideal, juxtaposed with footage of fighter jets and forest fires, the video to “The Weather” nods toward the human condition at its most nihilistic.

Of the song, POND’s Nick Allbrook says: “What does one do in the Worst Case Scenario? Our friend Evelyn told about an old game – a card game or something – called ‘The Worst Case Scenario Survival Game’. ‘The Weather’ is about reality’s penchant for unearthly deceleration in moments of total disaster and panic (micro and macro), and the real – flawed and silly and irredeemably human – humans who experience them. In these moments – when there is no more fan for the shit to hit – the once vain and frivolous pleasures of life seem so… not.”

“The Weather” is taken from the album of the same name. The most accomplished and forward-thinking record from the Perth band, The Weather places their left-of-center approach to psyche-rock firmly in the here and now. POND have previously streamed one of their finest pop-laced singles “Sweep Me Off My Feet” and the startling album opener “30000 Megatons.”
