“To The Boys” Molly Burch

Molly Burch has released a new animated video for her single “To The Boys.” Off her LP, First Flower, which is set for release on October 5 (Captured Tracks). While hurricane Harvey kept Molly locked in at home, she wrote much of the album, bouncing ideas off her bandmate and boyfriend Dailey Toliver who would contribute guitar parts and orchestration suggestions. When it came time to record, Burch chose to work with Erik Wofford at Cacophony Recorders in Austin. The singer/songwriter kicks off her tour on October 5th at the Austin City Limits Festival, in Austin, Texas.

Burch has announced a headlining US tour this Fall which will run through to December in support of the new album.

Director Emily Ann Hoffman on the video for “To The Boys”:

“I loved how playful and strong the song’s message was and wanted the video to have the same feeling. I liked the idea of a paper doll seeming delicate and feminine, yet standing up to a pack of mean pigs and leading a horde of animals with confidence.” She continues, “Molly and I had a lot of fun looking at old videos of Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton for outfit and hair inspiration for her paper doll.”
