“Stop Talking” Miya Folick

Premonitions, is the debut album from vocalist and songwriter Miya Folick, is due October 26 on Terrible Records/Interscope Records, the album artwork featuring her parents. Premonitions was co-produced with Justin Raisen (Sky Ferreira, Charli XCX, Santigold and Angel Olsen) and Yves Rothman. In other news Folick has released the single “Stop Talking,” along with a video directed by Folick, Ariel Fisher and Sarah C. Prinz.

On the album Folick explains, “Premonitions begins with ‘Thingamajig’—something you can’t quite recall the name of, but you know exactly what it means and what it feels like. Like the pull of desire that comes with not quite remembering fully. The magnetism of something just on the tip of your tongue. I wanted the album to feel like that thing.” She continues, “I wanted this album to be the vehicle for a hopeful, truthful, generous, and loving world. I tried not to posture or pretend. I wrote about my life as I’ve seen it and how I’d like to see it, as both memory and premonition.”

This fall Folick will embark on an extensive tour in support of Pale Waves and Sunflower Bean, with dates across the United States and Europe. She will also play a headlining record release show at Los Angeles’ Troubadour on October 22, plus headlining dates in Europe in December; —see below for the full routing.
Raised in Santa Ana, CA, Los Angeles-based recording artist and performer Miya Folick first rose to public attention with her 2015 debut EP, Strange Darling. Folick has toured the world over and shared stages with Chairlift, Yeasayer, Kate Nash, Sleigh Bells and many more.
