Mitski shares her new video for “Townie”

Mitski shares her video "Townie," from her latest album 'Bury Me At Makeout Creek.'

NYC-based songwriter extraordinaire Mitski has just announced that she will re-release her breakout record Bury Me At Make Out Creek, April 7th via Don Giovanni Records. This release will mark her joining of the Don Giovanni family and includes special unreleased tracks. In celebration, fans will have new chances to experience Mitski’s live show as she tours with Hundred Waters this month and joins Screaming Females and Speedy Ortiz on the road later this spring.

Bury Me At Make Out Creek opens with “Texas Reznikoff,” a track that starts with soft and sparse acoustic chord progression, which subsequently erupts into a barrage of rib-rattling distortion. “First Love / Last Spring” showcases Mitski’s tremulous vocals and melodic-chops supported by a lone baseline before swelling into the sounds of an arpeggiated synthesizer and swelling organ. Meanwhile, “Townie” brings to light the singer-songwriter’s dark sense of humor combined with a head-bopping blowout guitar riff. Today, Mitski unveils the animated video companion to “Townie”, which truly illuminates the song’s meaning.
