Kalle Mattson streams entire Avalanche EP , ahead of it's August 21st release on HOME Music Co

Songwriter Kalle Mattson’s Avalanche EP comes out August 21 on HOME Music Co., is now streaming. you can check it out below. Mattson will tour North America this fall, playing a string of dates in his native Canada and several shows in the U.S. including New York’s Rockwood Music Hall, Boston’s Café 939 and Chicago’s Beat Kitchen. Avalanche was produced by Colin Munroe (Sky Ferreira, Kendrick Lamar), mixed by Alex Aldi (Passion Pit) and engineered by Marcus Paquin (The National, Local Natives). The EP was written over the course of March 2015 and picks up where Mattson’s previous full length left off.

That album, Someday, The Moon Will Be Gold was released in 2014 and was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize, it also led to Mattson playing more than 160 shows across nine countries, including dates with Hozier and many others. Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Mattson debuted with 2009’s Whisper Bee and released a second full length, Anchors, in 2011. Someday, The Moon Will Be Gold was inspired by Mattson’s mother’s death and his return to his hometown for the first time in five years. Mattson’s song “Left Behind” will be featured in Episode 3 of this season of “Royal Pains” on NBC.
