Florence and the Machine debut new song

Florence and the Machine debut "Ship to Wreck"

Following on from the full-force anthem of uplifting defiance that was ‘What Kind of Man,’ the second single to be taken from the forthcoming new album is the future Florence classic ‘Ship to Wreck,’ which was premiered by Florence today.

On the track, Florence explains:

“I was thinking about my own self destructive side, and how you can make something only to tear it down, enjoy/destroy, create/devastate etc. When you’re in that whirlwind, you often end up breaking the thing you love the most”.

The video for ‘Ship to Wreck’ airs next week, and is set and filmed in Florence’s very own home.

Florence is currently in LA preparing to perform on the main stage at Coachella, right before headliner Drake. A far cry from her warm-up secret show at the 400-capacity London venue The Dome last month.

The new album How Big How Blue How Beautiful is a collection of songs, written and recorded over the course of 2014. Produced by Markus Dravs (Björk, Arcade Fire, Coldplay) with contributions from Paul Epworth, Kid Harpoon and John Hill. How Big How Blue How Beautiful is will be released June 2nd  on Republic Records.
