“Compare” FRANKIIE

Vancouver, BC’s  FRANKIIE, have announced their forthcoming release Forget Your Head, will drop on September 20th, via Paper Bag Records (Royal Canoe, Art D’ecco). Ahead of the release, the band has shared a lyric video, for album track “Compare.”

“The song is inspired by the negative, yet constant relationship one can have with social media,” notes songwriter/lead singer/guitarist, Francesca Carbonneau. “We have become normalized to a world of voyeurism, but what we see is often just the projection of a life that isn’t even truly real. We can get lost in the illusion of beauty and success of others; of strangers, and in turn, it can feel like our own life doesn’t measure up.’ Forget Your Head was recorded and produced by Jason Corbett (ACTORS) at Jacknife Sound in Vancouver, BC.

Earlier this year the band teased their reverie-rich, “Dream Reader” the video for the song captured the recurring dream loop songwriter/vocalist/keyboarist, Nashlyn Lloyd experienced over a period of time: “I was struggling to maintain my belief in the importance of creating music and our ambitions as a group and these dreams of drowning, stranded horses, and flying janky planes kept coming. I looked a few up in a dream dictionary and found that many of them were about new beginnings, emotional rebirth. After writing this song and finishing it off with the band, I began to feel inspired again. Whenever we create new music together, it seems to light me up.”
